Using MATLAB on LSC Computers

MATLAB Compiler and Release 14/2006

There have now been four Service Packs provided for MATLAB Release 14/2006.
  1. R14SP1 came out in Fall 2004
  2. R14SP2 came out in Spring 2005
  3. R14SP3 came out in Fall, 2005
  4. R2006a came out in January, 2006
  5. R2006b came out in August, 2006
  6. R2007a came out in March, 2007
  7. R2007b came out in September, 2007
  8. R2008a came out in March, 2008
In 2006, MathWorks changed the naming scheme to use the year instead of the release number.
For each configuration, we have developed setup instructions for using and deploying code with Matlab Compiler 4.x. Please follow the links below for each. At present, R2006a is the standard version used by the LSC for S5 analysis. However, the R2006b release appears to work at PSU and fixes many 64-bit bugs in the previous release. Release R2007a appear to support Intel Mac compilation as well as multi-threading

MCR Installer

As of R2007b, the MATLAB Common-RunTime (MCR) installer now uses InstallShield, which complicates installation on headless, Linux boxes.
